The Land Rover Defender, in 1983 introduced the third wheelbase to its utility line-up called the "Land Rover 127", a 127-inch wheelbase 4-wheel drive vehicle built to carry heavier loads than the Land Rover Defender 110. The "Land Rover 127" was created specifically with military usage in mind. Shortly thereafter, the "Land Rover 127" name changed to the "Land Rover Defender 130". The Land Rover Defender 130s weren't built from "cut-and-shut" 110s because they had the chassis of the Land Rover 130 was built from scratch.
